NXP alternative & cross-reference

Discretes, TVS & ESD → AMSEMI, same series, same package

NXP's discrete business became Nexperia in 2017, so most NXP-branded diode, TVS, ESD and transistor numbers on an older BOM are Nexperia-heritage parts — and those keep the industry-standard series names. That is what makes them replaceable: an SMBJ is SMB whoever prints the label. AMSEMI builds the same series in the same package, so the pad does not move.

The rule we do not break

Same package, or no quote. A replacement has to fit the pad that is already on your board. That means SMBJ is replaced by SMBJ in SMB, SMCJ by SMCJ in SMC, and P6KE by P6KE in DO-15. We will not offer you a 5000 W SMC part for a 600 W SMB footprint and call it a drop-in — that is a board respin, not a replacement. If we do not build the part in your package, we say so.

TVS: same series name, therefore same package

These series names are industry-standard — onsemi, Littelfuse, Vishay, NXP and AMSEMI all build SMAJ in SMA and SMBJ in SMB. Same name means same pad. Peak power and stand-off range are AMSEMI figures from AMSEMI datasheets.

Questions engineers actually ask

My BOM says NXP for the diode. Is that Nexperia now?

Most likely. NXP spun its discrete, logic and MOSFET business into Nexperia in 2017. The series names carried over, which is why those part numbers cross cleanly on series and package.

Can you replace an NXP MCU with a GD32?

No. GD32 is our STM32 alternative — it is not pin or software compatible with LPC or i.MX. We would rather lose the order than have your firmware not boot on the second prototype.

What package families do you cover on the protection side?

SMA, SMB, SMC, SOD-123FL, SOD-323, SOD-523, SOT-23, SOT-26, SOT-323, SOT-363, DFN1006 and DFN0603. If your NXP part sits in a package outside that list, ask before assuming.

Do you cross by part number or by parameter?

By series and package first — that is the reliable path. Where the number has no standard series name, we cross on VRRM, IO, VF, VC and package, and we say it is a parameter match rather than a drop-in.

What is the lead time?

Stocked bands ship in 1–3 days. Non-stocked voltages and automotive grades are made to order, typically 8–10 weeks.

Do you supply parts that are not on your site?

Yes. Send the part number and we confirm supply, price and lead time.

Send the NXP part number and get a real answer

Upload your BOM or type the number — we reply within one business day with the equivalent, the price, the package and the lead time. If we cannot supply it, or the package does not match, we say so.

AMSEMI, CR Micro, Magnachip, GigaDevice and Hopewell parts are supplied as an authorized distributor. Stock figures are a snapshot and are confirmed on the quote. Parts shipped from stock are industrial grade; the AMSEMI factory holds AEC-Q101 qualification and builds automotive (-H) versions to order.
Parameters quoted on this page are AMSEMI datasheet values. Competitor parameters are not reproduced here — send the part number and we put both datasheets side by side.
